Mario Bernal - Roofing Operations Manager
Mario has spent 20 years in Colorado working as a roofer. He has owned his own roofing company, Bernal Construction, and he has enjoyed learning the various solar mounting techniques and has 2 weeks of formal education in solar installations. Mario is certified in all brands of stone coated steel, tile, and asphalt shingles. His tremendous experience with all types of roofing enables Stellar to prevent the #1 warranty issue with solar installs – water leaks. Mario has been with us since our first installation and he is the "strength" of the organization.
Daniel Burmann - Solar Operations Manager
Originally from New York, Daniel spent the last 13 years as the owner of a property management company in Breckenridge where he honed the construction skills that he learned while growing up in a family owned construction company. He is about to complete his renewable energy degree from Red Rocks College and he is an apprentice electrician. His passions are solar installations and electrical wiring and he is an eternal optimist and exceptional team builder. Since he first joined us in early 2009, he has been the “heart and soul” of the group.
Candy Jones - Office Manager
Spending the last 20 years in California Candy returned to Colorado and her roots in early 2008. She brings with her an Associates Degree and 6+ years of experience in Human Resources, Staffing & Office Management as well as Insurance Restoration Claims Management & Customer Service Experience. Candy is always smiling and very organized and is the nerve center of the organization.
Jerry Hughes - Business Development
With 20+ years management experience in automotive manufacturing with recognition for most improved supplier from Toyota and the Chairman’s Award from Chrysler, Jerry spent the last 10 years as the head of Operations, Product Development and Quality for various $100-200 Million, Tier 1, Automotive suppliers. His most recent experiences include: mobile electronics, plastics forming, glass-metal seals, aluminum extrusions - load analysis, and as an instructor of Operational Excellence techniques.
In 2008, Jerry focused his efforts on learning the intricacies of PV installations and with his engineering degree, installation experience, lean manufacturing, PMP, and six sigma backgrounds he has been developing improved installation methods for the industry. Jerry is driving the efforts of "first reduce – then produce" and he provides the "vision" for Stellar.
Byron Ulrich General Manager – Roofing
After graduation Byron joined his father in the Solar & Insulation business building a company that would last from 1978-1986. When the Solar Industry stalled out in the Mid 80’s Byron focused his entrepreneurial sights on the Carpet Installation and cleaning industry.
In 2002 Byron joined his brother in law roofing company finally breaking off to join the Stellar Roofing Family as the General Manager in 2010. He is the “voice of customer” within the company.
Kristian Vanghagen -General Manager – Windows and Insulation
As a Colorado native, Kristian spent 10 years building custom homes for his family business in Aspen CO. He is certified by the Building Performance Institute as a Building Analyst (Energy Auditor) and is a Certified Thermographer. He has been leading the Windows and Insulation Division since early 2010 and earned the qualification of “Home Performance with Energy Star” (HPwES) contractor for Stellar. Kristian serves as our leading authority on building science and energy efficiency and is the “backbone” of the group.
Yurii Wong - General Manager – Electrical Services
Yurii is a Colorado native, a Master Electrician and a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines with a B.S. in Engineering. He has extensive training in chemical process’ and years of electrical experience and brings a very technical approach to the team. His Electrical background covers residential, commercial, telecom as well as industrial applications. After joining the group in 2009, Yurii received his NABCEP certification in early 2010. He is the “brains” of the organization.
Liability Insurance Information
Stellar Roofing & Solar has liability coverage of $2 million aggregate, $1 million per occurrence and Worker’s Compensation insurance, $500,000 per occurrence, plus a $10,000 surety bond.
Safety
Stellar Roofing & Solar installers our OSHA trained and attend regular company held safety-training sessions. We also take great pride in the additional steps to maintain a clean work environment to ensure the safety of property occupants and employees.
